It does tell the story quite nicely, although just a few things I didn't like about it; first was the bass spikes in the first half, which crackled and were annoying. Also ranting on the first half, it was just boring. One could argue that it represents the tedious climb to the mountain top, but it was just long and repetitive, step after step. The second half however was phenomenal, I really don't see anything I would have changed in it.
So, 5/5 9/10 because of the first part.

Thanks much, indeed the first half is boring, it's a build to the mountain climbing part. I envisioned his grandfather explaining to him what he has to do, then the raunchy horns come in as an annotation of deep thought. Yea the bass spikes a little, I'll try to fix it. I did this half asleep last night haha.
Thanks much,

*update: Apparently the drum I used is meant to sound like that. It's not spiking at all, just sounds like it is.

Although Krayon is right about killing being terrible, war and fighting is glorified all the time, and no one gives a shit.
Anyways, great song. The strings mixed very well, and the velocity felt perfect at every step. My only complaint is that the panning of the different instruments is a bit annoying when I'm wearing my headphones, so if you could blend it together a bit more, that would be great.

The melodies are great, but some of the notes sound as if they choke (on purpose?) this ruins the melody and makes it sound sort of meh..
But for the most part, it was fine, and almost sounds like some of the off pitch parts are on purpose.

"It was repetitive, but it worked,"
I still have this on my computer. I remember listening to it and having an instant vendetta against the tuba (muted?) same feeling listening to it now, it is to much the main focus of the piece.

"This is the best work I've heard from you.."
Everything just sounds absolutely perfect. The coordination between the flow and the main melody is just fantastic! It does loop seamlessly, even with the mood change and everything else that evolved over the two minutes it played. The whole song just brings every part of the piano together, I've listened to it at least 7 times now, and I notice something new every time. Everything you put in to this song seems almost like a minor part, but it really feels like everything comes together, and more so that everything has a big purpose in this song. You also avoided the mistake most loops make, which the only big pause in the song is at the beginning and the end, but this piece does that multiple times, making each section seem completely new, and I can only really pick out the end and start because I'm paying attention to it in particular, not what would otherwise be the main attraction.
I actually only clicked on this song because I saw 'smelin' out of the corner of my eye, and I wanted to tell you that Chaos still went forward. It made the leap into 3D a while ago, and went through a complete overhaul, but I'm glad I did, because lately I really haven't been feeling it from the classical section, and this was just phenomenal.

Thanks, I really appreciate the compliments! It's fun reading long, insightful posts like this :)
I'm glad to hear Chaos is still developing. Keep me updated on it, especially if you'll be seeking my composition for it. I'll see ya around.

I really loved how the higher notes were played, and how even though they were completely different from the lower notes, they fit together perfectly. You made this in 2 hours? Wow.. That's great. Also, even if it sounds a bit like your other works, it doesn't matter.
PS- Nice job in 'Lint'.
Author's Response:
Well.. I had that melody stuck for a while. In 2 hours I managed to record it, process and everything. Thank you for the support ;)

I grew up on the LoZ series, so finding a remix so true to my all-time favorite game really makes me happy. The remixing is heavy, but based around the beat just loosely enough to give the beat.
I used to sit on the platform in front of the Spirit Temple so I could listen to the theme while the monsters couldn't reach me.
Author's Response:
lol, I'm glad you liked it so much, it's one of my firsties here on NGs, so this is quite a compliment :]
Haha, nice, whenever I like a song on a game I always try to hide away somewhere and listen to it, then die x_x;

The melody and harmonization between the parts is fantastic. I love how it gives a feel of a classical Epic, but adds tones of remix throughout. The repeated beat gives the piece its backbone, and I was constantly amazed at how I thought one part was good, and then it got better. My only complaint is that in the beginning, the buildup is slow, and almost conveys the wrong tone until the strings come in. Overall, my favorite part was the section introduced by the guitar solo, and then the lead into the chorus with reverb.

Thanks, you've been giving nice reviews c:
My natural composer is "dark" so I could see why the intro would be considered having the wrong impression. Although, for this piece, nearly all the chords are minor, and the thing I noticed my music does is confuse people. Especially this song, to one person, it can be dark and creepy, but to another it could make them feel enlightened and freer. Thus why I thought the title would be perfect. It's almost like from The Crucible, when the girls dance in the forest in the intro.

The beginning was long and I thought it was to drawn out, but then later transforms into a beautiful harmonization with dramatic moods coming into play. However, the synthesizer you used to do the string groups in the first half was very scratchy. The second half portrays a fight or war very well, and the soldiers chanting in the background plays out very nicely. The quiet part after the chanting finishes feels a bit repetitive before the flute plays in, and then the whole piece comes together again. Overall, the piece was fantastic, and the ending was phenomenal. I could see something like this being used in a historic movie, maybe about Marathon or something along those lines.
Author's Response:
Thanks much :D I agree - they're a bit scratchy but I have computer limitations and had to use some lessthanperfect synths here and there.
Thanks much for the review :D

Really is the definition of Trance, a foot-tapping beat with visualizations. I really loved the intro, middle, and end, but the part where the song is just 'Oh yeah' and then goes to the weird part where it seems like they're on a beach, I thought it sort of ruined the mood, but then it came back with the ending. At the beginning, the trance buildup right after the chorus intro was amazing, and I loved how you used bass more than claps, which seems sort of uncommon for the trance genre. Overall, I loved the song in a whole, it was a great execution of a great idea.
